Events set you thinking... I have been shortlisted for an award for new business start-up and will find out today if I have won or not. As part of the process, I have spent some time thinking back over the last twelve months.
As some wise soul once said, it’s not arriving, it is the journey that matters and who you become in the process. Change involves risk. And risk takes courage – the courage to let go of the safe and venture into the unknown, keeping faith that things will be alright. Sometimes that can be challenging, often influenced by what is going on in the rest of your life, tiredness and even the weather! Like the little bird newly hatched, you have to take a deep breathe and believe. Whether you end up where you intended to be or whether life has other plans for you, the lessons you learn as you make the journey are invaluable and are yours to keep. So, as Steve Jobs wisely said: “Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life…have the courage to follow your heart and intuition." Whether you win or not is not the point, it is the taking part that counts! Follow your dream.
